CGB-GAD. Henry (Hank) Maltby, b. Oct. 18, 1821 (Jacob 5, Jonathan 4, Sam.3, Sam.2, Wm.1). There is an "Article of agreement made this sixth day of March, 1871, between Harrison Rouse of the town of Van Buren and county of Onondaga of the first part and Henry Molby of the same place of the second part, witness that the party of the first part agrees to rent to the party of the second part a house formerly owned by William Clifton at the price of sixty-five dollars for one year from the first day of April next with the garden and the hog pasture north of the house to be paid in advance. Also all the red cheres he wants in the family and the said party of the first part agrees to paper the parlor and kitchen.

                            (Signed) Harrison Rouse
                                      Henry Maltby."

This agreement is in possession of Harvey B. Walker, East Dead Creek, now part of the new Route 31, Van Buren. Mr. Walker said the farm was then owned by Harrison Rouse who married Harriet Molby, dau. of Chester, therefore Rouse was a first cousin-in-law of Henry Maltby.

Henry Maltby, called "Hank" was eccentric. He had lost a lung as a young man which caused him to be bent over. He was the one who had the bodies of his parents removed from the cemetery on the farm to the Baldwinsville cemetery.

He died Dec. 22, 1903, in Van Buren, single, and was buried in Baldwinsville.

T.I. Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville, N.Y. Lot 124. "Henry Maltby--1821-1903."
